Yuexiu Park, Guangzhou: A Beautiful Experience

When I was a child, I heard about a park in Guangzhou built on Yuexiu Mountain called Yuexiu Park. This century-old park deeply attracted me, and when I traveled to Guangzhou, I went straight there. The reason I like Yuexiu Park is not only because it is a national key park, one of China's top 100 parks, a national 4A-level tourist attraction, and one of the Eight Sights of Guangzhou, but also because of its rich history and profound cultural heritage, as well as its red genes. The four of us first went to the Nanyue King Museum, a national first-class museum located on the outskirts of the park. There is a free tour at 9:30 am every day. Although the 20 spots were already taken, we still followed along to get a general idea. Based on the tomb of the Nanyue King, the museum displays archaeological sites such as the tomb of the Nanyue King of the Western Han Dynasty, the Nanhai Palace, and the Nanhai Royal Palace. The "Nanyue Treasures" and "Lingnan's 2,000-Year-Old Center" exhibition halls are eye-opening, with many national treasures on display. After leaving the Nanyue King Museum, we walked about 200 meters to the west gate of Yuexiu Park, where we found one of Guangzhou's landmarks, the Five Rams Statue. As a sheep, I felt a special connection to it. I gazed at the Five Rams Statue, feeling the meaning of the myth about hard work, courage, and gratitude, as well as people's longing for a happy and beautiful life. What a wonderful picture! After saying goodbye to the Five Rams Statue, we climbed the Ming Great Wall, the only remaining and most complete section of the Ming Great Wall in Guangzhou, built in the 13th year of the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty (1380). Standing on the Great Wall of Yuexiu Mountain, I felt the wisdom of our ancestors. I couldn't imagine the hardships they went through to build this magnificent wall! We climbed the mountain to the Sun Yat-sen Monument to pay our respects to this great revolutionary pioneer. Over there is the statue of Wu Tingfang. Although I didn't know who he was, I knew that he was a famous diplomat in modern China. The Zhenhai Tower is a must-see, built in the same era as the Ming Great Wall and also a national key cultural relic protection unit. It is now home to the Guangzhou Museum, where you can feast your eyes. Walking along the lake, we arrived at the main entrance, where a New Year Lantern Festival was being held. The atmosphere was lively, and the scene was bustling. The lanterns were also beautiful during the day, a beautiful sight.
