The best dim sum in Guangzhou, the top hotel in the hearts of locals.

I don't know how many times I've been to Guangzhou. Although I try new things every time, there are so many delicious things in Guangzhou that I can't keep up. The list of restaurants I want to try keeps growing. I heard about the White Swan Hotel and its No. 1 dim sum the first time I came here, but I didn't want to wait in line, so I gave up. This time, I booked a room and a table in advance, and I finally got to try the best dim sum in Guangzhou and experience the charm of the White Swan Hotel. 🌹 The White Swan has two restaurants that serve dim sum, Hongtu House and Jade River. The food is similar, but Jade River seems to be more popular, so we chose it. 🌹 We ordered the signature Sachima, which should be eaten hot. It's soft and airy, not greasy or sticky, and very fragrant. It's not too sweet, and although it's delicious, it's not amazing. 🌹 The crispy char siu bao is special because the bun is a pineapple bun, which is different from the Hong Kong-style char siu bao. The filling is average, but overall it's pretty good. 🌹 The abalone swan pastry was originally supposed to be chestnut swan pastry, but the waiter said they were out of chestnut and replaced it with abalone. The pastry is very good, dry and crispy, and the abalone inside is chewy. The overall flavor is salty and fragrant, and the shape is outstanding. It's worth a try. 🌹 The shrimp dumplings are amazing, the best I've ever had. The portion is good, the skin is thin but chewy, the shrimp is bouncy, and there's a hint of black pepper and bamboo shoots. The taste is unforgettable. 🌹 I chose the lemongrass pigeon over the black char siu, so the black char siu from Qiaomei is still No. 1 in my heart. I'll compare them next time. The lemongrass pigeon surprised me. The lemongrass is very flavorful, not just a garnish. The aroma is strong as soon as it's served. The pigeon is not crispy, but tender and juicy, with a lemongrass fragrance that balances the gaminess. It's amazing. The taro dumplings are a bit ordinary. The taro paste and pastry are fine, but the dumplings are a bit greasy. It depends on personal taste. 🌹 The almond tea is full of milk and almond flavor, perfect for cleansing the palate after a big meal. Highly recommended. 🌹 I didn't have high expectations for the White Swan, an old local five-star hotel, and only stayed for the restaurant reservation. But I was pleasantly surprised. From check-in to check-out, the experience was on par with big brands like Four Seasons and Waldorf. The service was warm, the decor and facilities were new (except for the room, which was a bit dated), and the view was great, especially the pool and gym. 🌹
