Astro Boy has finally come to Guangzhou～

At the beginning of the year, I watched 'Pluto', and in the middle of the year, I saw the real Astro Boy～ In 1952, Osamu Tezuka began serializing his first long-form work 'Astro Boy' in the monthly magazine 'Shonen'. In 2003, Naoki Urasawa started redrawing the side story chapter 'The Greatest Robot on Earth' from 'Astro Boy'. The manga was named 'PLUTO' (translated as 'Pluto' in Chinese). In 2023, the anime adaptation of the same-named Japanese manga 'Pluto' was released on Netflix. This time, the anime version restores 90% of the content from the manga created more than a decade ago. Coincidentally, this theme is still relevant today. Currently, world wars are not much different from 60 years ago, with the Russia-Ukraine war, the Israel-Palestine conflict, and various military conflicts in Africa happening every day. Many people online are angrily taking sides, exacerbating the division of opinions. Behind these conflicts, other forces are also secretly manipulating to achieve their own goals. All these can be found in the plot of Astro Boy's works. I went to see this exhibition with the above thoughts～ People were already thinking about artificial intelligence/robots 60 years ago, and discussing it today is still very relevant～
