Appreciate the history and spirit of overseas Chinese

The Guangdong Overseas Chinese Museum is the first provincial overseas Chinese museum in the country, located at No. 32 Yanyu Road, Ersha Island, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou. It was founded in 1995, completed in 2002, and opened in November 2009. The building area is 6000 square meters, and the exhibition area is 4200 square meters. There are more than 10,000 collections (sets). Guangdong is a famous overseas Chinese hometown. Where there is sea water, there are overseas Chinese from Guangdong. Since ancient times, the Guangdong people have been the first to go overseas, fluttering across the sea, taking root in the local area, prospering the local area, and continuing to thrive. Actively support and participate in China's revolution and construction, forming a unique Guangdong overseas Chinese history and culture. Today, more than 30 million overseas Chinese from Guangdong are spread across more than 160 countries and regions around the world, becoming the disseminators of Chinese culture, friendly envoys of foreign exchanges, participants in the construction of the 'Belt and Road', and promoters of peaceful reunification. The construction of the Guangdong Overseas Chinese Museum aims to remember the history of overseas Chinese, commemorate the early overseas Chinese, inspire future generations, and create the future. The theme exhibition of 'Guangdong Overseas Chinese History Display' consists of six parts: emigrating overseas, hard work, cultural inheritance, long-lasting spirit, hometown affection, and overseas Chinese affairs.
