Gochang Travel Songak

#Must-see historic sites Songak is an evergreen vine belonging to the Araliaceae family, and its roots grow from the stem and attach to rocks or other trees. The leaves are glossy, dark green, the flowers bloom green in October, and the fruit ripens round and black in May of the following year. In Korea, it mainly grows in forests along the southwestern coast and islands. Gochang Samin-ri Songak has its roots at the bottom of the cliff across the stream at the entrance to Seonunsa Temple and grows up to cover the entire cliff. Its exact age is unknown, but judging by its size, it is thought to be at least several hundred years old. Gochang Samin-ri Songak is unusually large, and Gochang Samin-ri is close to the northern limit where Songak can grow inland, so it is designated as a natural monument and protected. #Gochang #Songak #GochangTravel
