If you want to go to a hot spring near Nagoya, I recommend Gero's 'Suimeikan'

In addition to the large main bath, you can enjoy an open-air bath and a panoramic bath, and you can also use the hot spring water in the bathtub of each guest room. There is also a private bath for a fee for those who want to enjoy the hot spring with their family. I personally used the Hinoki bath and it was so satisfying! There are also various auxiliary facilities such as a cafe, Chinese restaurant, bar, karaoke, and a store, and if you look at the ducks and carp in the large garden and pond, it is not enough to spend a day there. It is also fun to look around the cafes and stores that commercialize the frog character, the symbol of Gero Onsen! The only regret is that the surrounding stores tend to close early, so I recommend going around the neighborhood early in the morning. I also recommend the souvenirs sold at the store inside Suimeikan. Among them, the most recommended is the bath salts that you can use to enjoy the hot spring water even after returning home! - It's a 5-minute walk from Gero Station. You can take the train from Nagoya Station to Gero Station, but if that's too much of a hassle, try taking the shuttle bus for a round trip of 4,500 yen! - I recommend ordering breakfast for meals, and I also recommend using a nearby restaurant for lunch and dinner.
