Chew Jetty

#penang Chew Jetty which is built in 1888, is located at 45 Pengkalan Weld, Georgetown, and is around 350 meters 4 minutes walk from Weld Quay Jetty Bus Terminal. It is open daily from 0900-2100. Chew Jetty is one of the largest and oldest clan jetties in Penang, it is also the most busy and lively, because it is more commercialised and touristy. You can find shops selling snacks, deserts, souvenirs along the wooden walkway, some of them are operated by the residents there. Ancient Chinese traditions are being kept alive in this community, including the ancient Taoist religion, there is a Taoist temple just inside the entrance and the others at the end of Chew jetty.
