During the Sino-French War of 1885, Zheng Jinggui donated a huge amount of military pay to the Qing government. In order to commend his patriotic behavior, the Qing government conferred the second-rank official title on him and his wife Lin for three generations. As soon as you enter the door, you can see the seven-color glass window grilles full of European style, plus the popular atrium patio in the local area. There is a long table in the hall next to the patio, which is used to entertain guests for dinner when discussing business. After Zheng Jinggui passed away, the legendary mansion in the local area at the end of the 19th century was passed on to his descendants, but the fourth generation around 1990 sold it out. After the renovation, the original white exterior of the building was changed to the current green. Nyonyas usually have good cooking and craftsmanship. They usually start learning bead embroidery at the age of 11. At that time, Nyonyas would get married at the age of 15-18.
