Street Art of Penang

As I strolled down Armenian Street, the atmosphere was vibrant—colorful trishaws clinking past, the smell of street food in the air, and walls that spoke. Penang’s famous murals weren’t just art; they were interactive stories. Children on a bicycle, painted by Ernest Zacharevic, drew crowds who queued to pose with it. Nearby, a boy reaching for a hole-in-the-wall window created the illusion of motion and mischief. Street vendors selling coconut ice cream, handmade crafts, and cool souvenirs added to the charm. Locals were friendly, often pointing out hidden pieces I might have missed. I ended my walk with a kopi peng (iced coffee) at a nearby café, soaking in the mix of heritage and creativity that defines George Town. #penang #georgetown #malaysia

🖼 STREET ART 🖼 📍Everywhere in Georgetown is a work of art, from walls, poles to faucets and traffic pillars. I enjoyed exploring this lovely town ; I ate local foods ; the people are warm and friendly. 📍A unique thing about Penang street art is that these murals are not merely lifeless paintings on the wall. They are delicately coordinated with many other objects to create 3D works such as motorcycles, bicycles, a swing, or even a purposefully arranged story in the corner of the house. It brings the feeling that street art murals are both real and imaginary. 📍I also visited the Chew jetty which offers an interesting insight into the history of Chinese immigrants in Penang. the Chew Jetty is the most tourist-friendly with the most stilt-houses, the longest walkway. As people still live in this area be mindful when you take pictures. I stayed the evening to watch the sunset 🌅😍. #penang #penangart #georgetown #chewjetty #clan #malaysiatravel #solotraveler #detraveler #explore #ctripmoments #ctrip
