If you love vibrant history, colorful seaside towns, and incredible food, this part of Liguria is a must-see. Our trip balanced the bustling city life of the region's capital with the tranquil, picturesque charm of the coast. The summer weather was perfect for soaking up the sun and the Mediterranean atmosphere! 📍 Genoa: History and Pesto Perfection Genoa, or La Superba, was our starting point and offered a fantastic contrast to the smaller coastal villages. General Vibe: A grand, historic port city with a slightly edgy, authentic feel. The scent of basil and focaccia is everywhere! 📍 Santa Margherita Ligure: The Elegant Base Santa Margherita Ligure quickly became our favorite elegant yet laid-back spot. It’s the ideal base for exploring. General Vibe: More local and less crowded than its famous neighbor, with beautiful Liberty style (Art Nouveau) hotels and an elegant palm-lined promenade. 📍 Portofino: The Iconic Jewel The star of the show! Portofino lives up to its glamorous reputation with its iconic crescent harbor. General Vibe: Chic, vibrant, and a playground for the international set. It’s small, but every corner is a postcard.
