It turns out that the coldest place in China is not Mohe

I took a bus from Hailar to Genhe. As soon as the bus turned into the city area, I saw a huge thermometer 🌡️ shaped like an iceberg 🏔️ standing tall in the southwest corner of the city. The numbers on the thermometer were frighteningly low. I instinctively wrapped my coat tighter. Later, I asked the locals and found out that it was the symbol of China’s coldest point. I had always thought the coldest place in China was Mohe, but it’s actually Genhe❗️ And fewer people probably know about Genhe than Mohe. 🍁 Traveling and stepping out to see the world has slowly broadened and corrected my understanding of the world. Although, no one can ever see the whole world. Genhe covers a large area on the map 🗺️, but in reality, the main urban area where people live is very small—only about 1.5 kilometers east to west and less than 1 kilometer north to south. Within this small space, there are schools, hospitals, residences, hotels, shopping malls, gas stations, train stations, bus stations, and restaurants—all fully equipped. I asked the locals if the autumn scenery in Hulunbuir was similar everywhere. An old man shook his head and waved his hand, saying, “It’s definitely different here.” When I asked further, they couldn’t accurately describe what exactly was different. After much talk, it all boiled down to one word: “beautiful”❗️ I walked straight ahead along Genhe and entered the Genhe Source National Wetland Park. At first, the weather was foggy. “The scenery here is just so-so!” Then I climbed a tall tower and looked around. Suddenly, a beam of sunlight shone through, as if stubbornly breaking through the clouds. The leaves on the mountains instantly turned golden, and the river surface sparkled with stars ✨. We were stunned. That’s the feeling the old man meant by “different.” 📍Genhe Source National Wetland Park 🎫75 🔅Deer Park: You can interact with reindeer here; the reindeer here are much more lively than those in Oroqen. 🔅Car Camp: There is a tall tower here where you can stand and overlook the vast wetland scenery. 🔅Memorial Forest: There is a boardwalk next to it that leads straight into the forest, or you can just stand by the Genhe River and watch the water weave through the trees. It’s even more beautiful at sunset 🌇~
