Depart from Harbin to chase the first rays of the sun in China

Start a self-driving journey to the east, passing through Jixi, Xingkai Lake, Hulin, and finally arriving at Fuyuan. The return trip goes through Tongjiang and Jiamusi. Fuyuan is located at the easternmost point of our country's territory. The earliest sunrise in China can be seen here, which is the destination of our trip. We set off from Hulin at four in the afternoon, drove for about four hours, and arrived in Fuyuan at eight in the evening, staying at the Meishi Star, which should be considered the best hotel in the area. We were so hungry that we ordered braised sturgeon and small river shrimp🦐 in the hotel, which were delivered to our room. The taste was good, and the portion was generous. So we ate at the hotel again the next day, having homemade braised sea turtle and cold dishes. When you come to Fuyuan, you must try the river fish, with a variety of choices like 'Sanhua', 'Wuluo', and 'Shibazi', for you to pick. The itinerary for the two days is as follows: Day1: Sunrise at Dongji Square - Back to the hotel for more sleep - Heixiazi Island - Sunset at Dongji Square Day2: Dongji Pavilion - Binjiang Park - Fuyuan Port - Fish Museum There are two best spots for watching the sunrise in Fuyuan: one is Dongji Square, and the other is Dongji Pavilion. Dongji Square has a wide view, located by the river (Heilongjiang on the left and Wusuli River on the right), but it is more than 30 kilometers away from the downtown area, and it takes about forty minutes by car. Dongji Pavilion is on a small hill in the city center, and you need to climb a bit to get there. It's also a great place to watch the sunset, and it's said to be incredibly beautiful when lit up at night. Heixiazi Island Previously, the island was jointly developed by two countries, China and Russia, but by 2023, it had been completely returned to China. The ticket price is 145 yuan, including a sightseeing car. There are three stops and four attractions. The Russian sentry post ruins and the wetland park are at the first stop, followed by the Dongji Pagoda and the Clumsy Bear Park. The Clumsy Bear Park requires a switch to a thrilling car, and you can bring or buy food to feed the bears. The entire park is very large and takes about half a day to visit. It's very close to Dongji Square, so if you have the energy, you can come straight here after watching the sunrise, as the park opens at eight in the morning. Binjiang Park, the port, and the Fish Museum are all on the same line and can be reached on foot. I think the 50 yuan ticket price for the Fish Museum is quite expensive, so you can decide whether to visit based on your budget.
