The resort is well known for its long-standing partnership with the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup. Furano Ski Resort is divided into two areas: Furano Area and Kitamine Area. In recent years it has hosted the mid-February Snowboard World Cup sponsored by Dydo Drinco.
