Farmers Market

#celebratewithtrip Mercado dos Lavradores is also known as Farmers Market is a fruits, vegetables, flowers and fish market in Funchal. The market was opened on 24 November 1940. The market was open from Monday to Friday from 0700-1900, Saturday till 1400 and closed on Sunday. The market has a covered area with two floors. On the ground floor, you will find fish and meat stalls, while upstairs tropical fruits, vegetables and a multitude of spices fill the entire space with a new aroma. There are several panels of tiles that decorate both the main entrance and the interior. I visited a restaurant just before the entrance of the market, named Peixaria for my lunch. I had ordered their fish of the day red snapper and a beer. The fish is perfectly grill, the skin is little bit burn, the fish is soft and juicy.
