Simple Fukuoka

This summer, I suddenly felt the urge to travel, so I booked a flight and embarked on a 3-night, 4-day trip to Fukuoka. Compared to mainland Japan, it felt more relaxed, and unlike Osaka or Tokyo, it had a humble charm that made it even more appealing. ✈️ Transportation One of Fukuoka's advantages is how close the airport is to the city center. Just 15 minutes after landing, I arrived at Hakata Station. I stored my luggage and immediately started exploring the city. It truly felt like the perfect destination for a spontaneous getaway. Small Town Hita "A day in Hita, the water town where time flows slowly." While searching for nearby destinations around Fukuoka, I stumbled upon Hita (日田). Drawn by descriptions of a quiet small town where nature and tradition coexist, I decided to visit for a day trip. To sum it up: "This town... I want to come back." 🚃 Transportation: Fukuoka → Hita From Fukuoka (Hakata Station), it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours by JR Yufuin no Mori train or regular trains. The journey offers scenic views of mountains and rivers, making it hard to take your eyes off the window. Upon arriving at Hita Station, you immediately feel the difference from the city—it's quieter, and the air feels fresher. 🌊 Sea, City, and Hot Springs • Momochi Beach is small but clean, and the ocean view from Fukuoka Tower was delightful. • At night, I visited a small sauna and hot spring near my accommodation, which completely relieved my travel fatigue. • The city as a whole isn't busy, allowing me to truly experience what it means to "rest."
