Hakata Machiya Furusatokan: A tourist facility centered around Hakata townhouses

I went to the Hakata Machiya Furusatokan while sightseeing in Fukuoka. It means "Fukuoka" as a town of samurai and "Hakata" as a town of merchants and townspeople, so if you want to know about "Hakata", it's the easiest place to see and hear about it. In particular, there are a lot of exhibits about Yamakasa and demonstrations of traditional Hakata crafts. The volunteers explain things carefully and it's very interesting. The history of Hakata is also compactly summarized on panels, and there are many exhibits about Hakata in the good old days of modern times.
