[Hakata] Maizuru Park and Fukuoka Castle Ruins

Maizuru Park is a 15-minute walk from Tenjin and close to the nearest station, Ohori Park Station. The symbol of the park is the ruins of Fukuoka Castle, which is associated with Kuroda Kanbei. It is a famous spot for cherry blossoms in spring. Depending on the season, you can enjoy water lilies and lotus flowers on the waterside of Maizuru Park. When I visited (June 17, 2023), yellow water lilies were blooming. There are also lotus flowers in another moat, so you can probably see them from now on. Both water lilies and lotus flowers bloom in the morning, so if you go for a walk in the morning, you will be able to see beautiful flowers. The hydrangeas were in full bloom and were beautiful.
