[A journey through time at the Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins] A historical walk in Fukui immersed in the romance of the Warring States period🏯🍃

[A journey through time at the Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins] A historical walk in Fukui immersed in the romance of the Sengoku period 🏯🍃 The Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins, located on the outskirts of Fukui City, is a precious historical heritage site where the castle town from the Sengoku period remains intact ✨ The former samurai residences, gardens, and stone-paved roads have been restored, making you feel as if you have traveled back in time 🏯 The scenery that spreads across the quiet valley is perfect for history buffs as well as those who want to feel nature 🌿 When I actually visited, I felt my mind calm down in a space where only the sound of the wind and the voices of the birds echoed. You can feel the romance of history with your partner, or take a leisurely stroll alone 💑🧍♂️ [Access] Take the train from JR Fukui Station to Ichijodani Station for about 20 minutes 🚃 The ruins area is about a 15-minute walk from the station Domestic travel #couples trip #solo trip #absolutely free trip #Fukui trip #Ichijodani Asakura clan ruins #warring states romance #historical walk #relaxing trip #castle town #time slip

Not easy to get to but well worth the trip if you are into Japanese history and can speak and understand a even a little Japanese. This is the site of a castletown that flourished deep in the mountains and nothing remained. Now there are a number of reconstructed residences and a large portion of the site has been excavated showing pillars, walls, wells, and so forth. A small museum has relics of medieval life. There is a small waterfall called 'Ichijo-daki' deep in the woods, about 3 km from Ichijodani Asakura Ruins. It is quite small waterfalls compared to other waterfalls I’ve visited but definitely worth a visit. #givethanks #givethanks
