Fukui - Dinosaur capital of Japan

It's a 3.5 hours shinkansen ride from Tokyo and should be include as one of a few places to visit in the Ishikawa prefecture along the west coast of Japan. I stayed at Toyoko Inn Fukui Ekimae which is right next to Fukui station and very convenient. There are some nice dinosaur-themed displays around the station to be found. Featured Locations: (1) Tojinbo Cliffs, Oshima island (about an hour's hike around the island back to the same bridge), and also take the Tojinbo Sight-seeing Cruise. About 50 min to an hour's ride on Echizen Railway from Fukui Station. (2) Eiheji Temple. 30-min direct bus ride from Fukui Station (hourly service) to Eiheji (3) Fukui Prefecture Dinosaur Museum. An hour's ride on Echizen Railway + 20-min bus ride (express buses at certain timings go direct to the museum). It's a huge exhibition also showing the evolution of dinosaurs into other animals. Suggest to have your breakfast at Fukui Station before heading out, you can have some light food at the museum cafe. Featured Food: (1) Echizen Kaninobou when visiting Tojinbo Cliffs (right next to train station upon arrival, opens at 11am, reservations start at 9.30am). Popular for their crab.
