Enoshima is a very popular tourist destination in the Shonan region. This time we went there on a cool day, and the overall feeling was completely different from that on a sunny day, but it was still full of characteristics. Firstly, the cool weather made walking around the island more comfortable and less tiring due to the heat. Starting from Enoshima Station, passing through Benzaiten Nakamise-dori, there are many shops selling local snacks and souvenirs along the way. The street has a strong nostalgic atmosphere. On cloudy days, there are fewer people, so you can stroll around more leisurely. When we arrived at Enoshima Shrine, the cool weather made the area around the shrine seem particularly quiet and solemn. After the worship, it is recommended to take the Enoshima escalator up, which saves energy and allows you to enjoy the greenery along the way. Arriving at the top of the mountain, at the Enoshima Sea Candle Observation Lighthouse, you can still overlook the Sagami Bay and the Shonan Coast even in bad weather. The sea surface appears deep blue on cloudy days, which has a unique tranquil beauty. Continuing on, Iwaya Cave and Chiji-no-fuchi are both natural landscapes that cannot be missed in Enoshima. In cool weather, the atmosphere inside and outside the cave becomes even more mysterious, and the sound of waves hitting the rocky shore is particularly clear. If your physical strength allows, you can walk to the Zhier Abyss to admire the spectacular sea erosion platform and feel the power of nature. If you encounter strong winds or occasional drizzle, you can also choose to visit the Enoshima Aquarium. The museum displays a rich variety of marine life, as well as cute penguins and otters, making it a good choice in cool weather. Enoshima is less lively in the cool weather, but more peaceful and leisurely. The scenic spots, shrines and natural landscapes along the way can be savored slowly. Whether taking a walk, paying homage or admiring the sea view, it will make people feel relaxed physically and mentally. It is a unique travel experience.
