🌉 Sunset Walk Across Florence’s Old and New – Ponte Vecchio & Ponte alle Grazie

There’s something magical about walking across bridges in Florence. I started with Ponte Vecchio, the city’s most iconic bridge. The moment I stepped onto it, I felt like I had entered a living postcard. Lined with glittering goldsmith shops, old wooden shutters, and charming windows, the bridge had a timeless feel. Tourists and locals crowded the narrow walkway, but the vibrant energy was infectious. And when I looked out from the middle, the view of the Arno River—bathed in golden light—was nothing short of stunning. After that, I strolled further down to Ponte alle Grazie. It’s much quieter and more modern, but no less beautiful. The contrast was striking. From here, I could see the full silhouette of Ponte Vecchio against the backdrop of Florence’s skyline. It was the perfect vantage point to take it all in—a peaceful pause away from the crowds, just me and the sunset. Both bridges offered a different slice of Florence: one full of history and energy, the other calm and contemplative.
