Riding tiny horses in Iceland 🗺️

#outdooradventures Exploring the Snæfellsnes Peninsula on horseback was an incredible way to see the Icelandic countryside! 🐴 I joined a small group tour that took us through lush green fields and along the rocky coastline, all while riding Icelandic horses, which are small but mighty and so sure-footed! 🏞️ The ride cost about 9,000 ISK and lasted around two hours, which was the perfect amount of time to really soak in the scenery and bond with these gentle creatures. Our guide was fantastic, sharing stories about the local area and explaining how these horses are a special breed known for their unique gait, called the tölt. Riding along with the ocean breeze in my face, I felt totally at peace. We even caught glimpses of the Snæfellsjökull glacier in the distance, which looked like something out of a fairytale, and made a quick stop at a black sand beach. 🌊 The horses handled the terrain so well, and it felt like they were just as happy to be out exploring as we were! After the ride, I took a short drive to the nearby Kirkjufell mountain, which is iconic in its own right and perfect for snapping a few more photos. 📸 If you find yourself in Snæfellsnes, I highly recommend hopping on one of these horse rides. It's a beautiful and relaxing way to see the landscape and really connect with Iceland's natural beauty.
