Emeishan Summit- Beauty above the clouds

The summit of Mount Emei in Sichuan Province is absolutely magnificent. 💰💵The costs of entering the mountain as well as the shuttle busses and cable cars needed to reach the summit can add up and turn out to be quite an expensive experience though. However the views from the top are really stunning and is well worth a visit if you don't mind the expense. It cost us around 350 RMB per person for entrance and round trip internal transfers. ⛰️Getting there- We tried to hike up a section of the mountain. It was really peaceful and beautiful but we found it to be way too strenuous. The pathways are mostly stairs so the strain on the legs is really intense. After about two hours of stairs we decide to take cable cars up to Leidongping where we spent the night. 🏫Accomodation- staying in Leidongping the accommodation was really basic but okay for an overnight stay. Staying overnight you can get to the summit in time for the sunrise. There are several home stays and hotels most of which had a similar offering. We paid 300 RMB for a night's accommodation. 🪔Ambiance- arriving at the summit just before sunrise was great. The area was quiet and the smell of incense and chanting created a lovely spiritual feeling. We left about 2 hours later by which time the crowds started to arrive. We took the cable car up and decide to walk back down to Leidongping. Since we were against the traffic of the crowds it was a nice leisurely walk back down. 🏅Overall a lovely experience, fairly expensive but well worth it #culturalattractions
