#AprilGoodDestinations2025 The Chiayi University Botanical Garden is located behind the Lantan Campus of Chiayi University. The main body of the botanical garden is a semi-spherical greenhouse exhibition hall that emphasizes the plant communities with the imagery of native forests and stream banks. Inside the botanical garden, there is a waterfall plant area that imitates a rock mountain, as well as a variety of tropical and subtropical tree species such as the 12-meter-high hairy persimmon, the silver-leafed iron tree, the maple persimmon, the ivory tree and the soft-haired persimmon. The entire greenhouse exhibition hall starts from the bottom viewing route and follows the winding upward path to the top of the exhibition hall. Different varieties of flowers, plants and trees can be seen at each different bend or along the route. Many butterflies can also be seen flying in the hall. Different viewing positions bring different surprises. In addition to its beautiful environment, the botanical garden also has multifunctional uses such as research, extension, teaching and education.
