Lightning avoidance!!! Horrible traffic experience from The Hague, Netherlands to Düsseldorf, Germany!!!

Düsseldorf is a German city located on the border of the Netherlands and Germany. If you have enough time to travel to the Netherlands and want to explore Germany, it takes more than 3 hours to travel from The Hague to Düsseldorf by rail. You can visit the city for a round trip of 2 days and 1 night on the same day. You can check the train schedule on the Dutch Railways app "NS" and buy tickets on the NS website. Since we wanted to ask clearly, we bought tickets at the Hague Central Station (Den Haag Centraal) the day before. According to the original itinerary, we had to transfer 3 trains (the whole journey took 3 hours and 20 minutes): From Den Haag Centra to Eindhoven Centraal, transfer to the train from Eindhoven Centraal to Venlo, and transfer to the train from Venlo to Dusseldorf Hbf. But!!!!!!! We found out that day! The track from Venlo to Dusseldorf is under repair🧰🥹 After arriving in Venlo, we asked the staff🧑💼 and found out that we had to transfer to a bus🚌 to a train station called Kerken Aldekerk Bahnhof Then take the train from Kerken Aldekerk Bahnhof to Dusseldorf Hbf The staff's instructions were not very clear due to language problems, and there were no signs at all This is where the nightmare began. I originally thought that the railway company had arranged a shuttle bus Later, I asked the Dutch lady who was transferring with me and found out that we were just waiting for a regular bus here🚌 We didn't even know the bus number🥲 Fortunately, the Dutch lady was on the same route as us and was very friendly. She said she would notify me when she saw the right bus and get on the bus together! After waiting for about 15-20 minutes, a bus finally came!! Then we took the bus for another 30 minutes We were asked to get off at Kerken Aldekerk Bahnhof and transfer to the train When we looked at the timetable, we found that because our bus was delayed, we missed the train we were supposed to take🚄 We had to wait another hour for a bus🥲🥲🥲 It was very cold and windy that day~and it was a very remote outdoor station🥲 In the end, we blew in the cold wind for an hour before waiting for the train🚆 This time we finally arrived at Dusseldorf Hbf🥲 As a result, the journey from 3 and a half hours to 5 hours🥲 I would like to advise everyone to remember to ask if there is any road repair that needs to be diverted before buying tickets If there is, it is recommended to change the transportation method or leave it for next time 🥲It's so painful! #Dusseldorf #DusseldorfTraffic #Germany #GermanTraffic #DusseldorfHBF #2024TravelReview
