2024 Dubai Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in September)
Dubai is currently one of the hottest travel destinations in the Middle East. The structural marvels created in this modern metropolis make it stand out. Skyscrapers like the 828-meter-high Burj Khalifa or the magnificent Palm Jumeirah archipelago have become landmark symbols of Dubai. Dubai City is nestled between the sea and burning desert sands. This unique geography allows visitors who come here the opportunity to experience a broad range of diverse entertainment facilities. You could go to the Jumeirah Beach to play in the water or sunbathe on the white sand, take a hot air balloon up over the desert, or go on a desert jeep safari. If your budget allows, you can (and should) spend the night at one of Dubai's top-class hotels for a unique luxury experience.

Infinity pool with Burj Khalifa view ❤️😍🗺️
#infinitypool
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Infinity Pool at the Address Sky View Hotel in Dubai, and it was an unforgettable experience! 🌟 Located on the 54th floor, this pool offers a stunning, unobstructed view of the Burj Khalifa. The entrance fee is around AED 200 ($55), which includes a credit towards food and drinks—a great deal considering the incredible view.
Swimming in the infinity pool while gazing at the world’s tallest building was surreal. The pool’s edge blends seamlessly with the skyline, creating an amazing illusion of floating above the city. 🏊♀️🌆 The atmosphere was chic and relaxed, with attentive staff and comfortable loungers. After a dip, I enjoyed a delicious meal at the hotel’s restaurant, which also offers fantastic views of the cityscape.
If you’re looking for nearby attractions, you’re just a short walk from the Dubai Mall and the Dubai Fountain show, which are both worth visiting. This pool experience truly made my Dubai trip special! 🌟

Navigating Dubai Creek with a Local Guide
#localtourguides
Exploring Dubai Creek with a local tour guide transforms a simple outing into a deep dive into the heart of Dubai's historical and cultural beginnings. This iconic waterway, which has been the lifeblood of the city since ancient times, provides a fascinating contrast to the modern skyscrapers and bustling city life.
Personalized Insight and Rich Stories
Having a local guide by your side as you navigate the busy waterway of Dubai Creek is invaluable. The guide brings the history of the area to life with stories of the traders and pearl divers who once thronged these waters. As you glide along in a traditional wooden dhow or an abra (water taxi), your guide points out historical buildings, markets, and hidden gems that you might otherwise miss.
Engaging Cultural Experiences
The tour often includes stops at key cultural sites along the creek, such as the Gold Souk, Spice Souk, and the Dubai Museum located in the Al Fahidi Fort. Your guide provides context to each site, explaining their significance and evolution over time. This firsthand insight enhances the experience, making it more than just a visual journey—you gain a deeper understanding of the Emirati way of life and the factors that shaped the region.
Customized Exploration
One of the advantages of a guided tour is the ability to tailor the experience to your interests. Whether you're keen on learning more about the local cuisine, the traditional architecture, or the trading history of Dubai, a local guide can adjust the itinerary to focus on what intrigues you most. They can also recommend the best spots for authentic Emirati cuisine or help you negotiate in the bustling souks.
Visitor Tips
- Dress Respectfully: When exploring Dubai Creek and its surrounding areas, it's important to dress conservatively as a sign of respect for local culture.
- Stay Hydrated: The climate can be hot and humid, so carry water with you throughout the tour.
- Ask Questions: Leverage the knowledge of your local guide by asking questions—this can enrich your understanding and make your tour more engaging.

Aura SkyPool 🗺️
#infinitypool
I recently had the chance to visit Aura Skypool in Dubai, and it was an incredible experience! 🏙️🌴 Located on the 50th floor of the Aura Sky Lounge in the heart of Dubai, this place offers one of the most breathtaking views of the city. The entrance fee is around AED 150 ($40), which includes a drink, and it's definitely worth every dirham for the panoramic views and luxury vibes.
The infinity pool itself is stunning, extending out from the building and giving you the feeling of swimming in the sky. The atmosphere is relaxed yet sophisticated, with plenty of comfortable loungers and attentive service. 🏊♂️🍹 After taking in the view from the pool, I enjoyed a leisurely meal at the lounge’s restaurant, which offers a great selection of cocktails and light bites.
Nearby, you can explore the vibrant Dubai Marina area or take a short trip to the iconic Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. The combination of high-altitude relaxation and nearby attractions made this visit a highlight of my Dubai trip! 🌆

Untold Festival Dubai 🗺️
#musicfestivals
I just got back from the Untold Music Festival in Dubai, and wow, what an experience! 🎶 Held at the Dubai Festival City, this event was a non-stop party that brought together music lovers from all over the world. The festival grounds were buzzing with energy, incredible light shows, and, of course, some of the best DJs and artists out there. The lineup was packed with big names, and each performance was more electrifying than the last. 💃🏻 The entry ticket was around 500 AED, which was totally worth it for the mind-blowing performances and the overall vibe of the event.
The whole setup was something out of a dream – giant stages, pyrotechnics, and immersive visuals that transported you to another world. 🌌 It felt like being part of a massive, vibrant community, with everyone dancing and singing along. One of the highlights was the main stage, with its larger-than-life design and incredible sound system. You could feel the beats thumping through your entire body! The food trucks and drink stalls offered a great selection, from local snacks to international cuisine, so you could refuel in between sets. 🍔🥤
Nearby, you have the Dubai Festival City Mall, perfect for a little shopping or catching a movie if you need a break from the music scene. Plus, the famous Dubai Creek is just a short walk away for a scenic escape. 🌊 Untold Music Festival in Dubai is more than just a concert; it’s an unforgettable experience that mixes music, culture, and the iconic Dubai skyline. Can’t wait to do it all again next year! #trip #UntoldFestival #DubaiNights #MusicLovers #FestivalVibes #EpicEvent
Aquaventure Waterpark Atalantis The Palm 🗺️
#waterparks
My day at Aquaventure Waterpark in Atlantis The Palm, Dubai, was nothing short of incredible! 🌴💦 This waterpark is a paradise for thrill-seekers, families, and anyone looking to cool off in the Dubai heat. The entrance fee was around 299 AED for adults, which might seem a bit pricey, but trust me, it’s worth every dirham. The park is massive, with over 105 slides and attractions, including some of the most exhilarating water slides I’ve ever experienced! 😱
The highlight for me was the Tower of Poseidon, especially the Leap of Faith slide that sends you hurtling down a near-vertical drop into a clear tube surrounded by sharks and rays. 🦈🌊 It was both terrifying and exhilarating! For a more relaxing experience, I floated down the Lazy River, which seemed endless and was a perfect way to take a break from all the adrenaline. There’s also a great section for kids with smaller slides and splash areas, making it a perfect spot for families. 🏄♂️
I also loved the beach area within the park, where I could unwind and enjoy the stunning views of the Palm Jumeirah. 🏖️ After working up an appetite, I grabbed lunch at one of the park’s many eateries, which offered a good variety of food. Don’t forget to visit The Lost Chambers Aquarium next door to explore the fascinating marine life. If you're in Dubai, Aquaventure is a must-visit! #trip #AquaventureDubai #WaterparkFun #AtlantisThePalm #DubaiAdventures #SummerSplash

Looking for an affordable hotel in Dubai? Here's a great recommendation for you!
Dubai's JW Marriott Marquis Hotel is located next to the Dubai Canal and consists of two iconic towers. From my perspective, the exterior walls of the two towers resemble palm trees with bark spreading outward, making them quite distinctive in appearance.
In a place like Dubai where the weather can get quite hot, the hotel's pool is definitely a highlight. The JW Marriott Marquis Hotel in Dubai features an outdoor pool. While it may not be as large as those in ultra-luxurious hotels like Dubai Marina or Palm Jumeirah, it is adorned with a few palm trees and offers a view of the distant Burj Khalifa, still exuding the unique charm of Dubai. Sitting under the palm trees, you can sunbathe after a swim and order a drink from the nearby bar. Isn't this the epitome of a relaxing Dubai vacation?
If you're looking for an affordable yet reliable hotel in Dubai, I highly recommend the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel.
Next time you choose Emirates, remember to stay in Dubai for a few days.
Dubai is a city that many Hong Kong people are familiar with. As a transit hub for Emirates, many Hong Kong travelers pass through this city on their way to Europe. But how many have actually stayed in this city? This time, my friend and I decided to stay for three days and two nights to uncover the mysteries of this Middle Eastern emirate.
Why choose to stay in Dubai? There are several reasons. First, a short stay in Dubai between Europe and Asia can help adjust to the seven to eight-hour time difference. Second, although Dubai is a wealthy emirate, it is still a Middle Eastern country, allowing me to explore Middle Eastern culture safely. Lastly, I was drawn by Dubai's natural scenery, magnificent architecture, and relaxing vacation atmosphere.
Dubai's Most Luxurious Beach - A Magnet for Europeans
Facing Dubai's scorching weather, the beach is undoubtedly our best companion. Just a half-hour drive from downtown Dubai, you'll reach Dubai Marina. This area faces the Persian Gulf and boasts expansive beaches. Naturally, the shore is lined with various high-end hotels and luxurious resorts. Sometimes we swim in the hotel pools, sometimes we enjoy cocktails and sunbathe on the hotel's private beach, and other times we head to the public Marina Beach to take in the scenery and play in the sea. Gazing at the blend of city and beach, I just want to slow down and enjoy the most chill vacation.
DUBAI day tour ❤️
#citydaytours
During my summer vacation, I took a city day tour in Dubai, and it was an unforgettable experience that truly captured the essence of this incredible city! Dubai is a place where tradition meets futuristic innovation, and seeing it all in one day was both exciting and eye-opening.
Our tour started at the iconic **Burj Khalifa**, the world’s tallest building. The entrance fee for the observation deck on the 124th floor was around 149 AED (roughly $40), and it was worth every dirham. The views of the city skyline and the Arabian Gulf are absolutely breathtaking. After soaking in the panoramic views, we made our way to the **Dubai Mall**, which is not just a shopping destination but an attraction in itself with its massive aquarium, indoor ice rink, and countless luxury stores.
Next, we visited the historic **Al Fahidi District** to get a taste of old Dubai. Walking through the narrow lanes of this heritage area, with its traditional wind towers and quaint courtyards, was like stepping back in time. We also took a short abra (water taxi) ride across Dubai Creek, which only cost 1 AED, and explored the vibrant spice and gold souks. The colors, scents, and the lively hustle of the market were so different from the modern side of Dubai—an experience not to be missed!
In the afternoon, we drove along **Sheikh Zayed Road**, marveling at the futuristic architecture, before heading to **Jumeirah Beach**. The white sandy beach with the stunning backdrop of the **Burj Al Arab** was the perfect place to relax for a bit.
The day wrapped up with a visit to **Dubai Marina** and the **Palm Jumeirah**, where we enjoyed a leisurely stroll and admired the incredible man-made island. Nearby, the Atlantis Hotel is also worth a visit, especially if you’re into luxury hotels or aquariums.
Dubai is a city of contrasts—modern yet steeped in tradition, and exploring it in one day gave me a deep appreciation for its unique character. Whether you’re into skyscrapers, shopping, or history, Dubai has something for everyone.

Traditional vs. Modern: This is the charm of Dubai.
The Shaikh Rashid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Mosque is named after Rashid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the eldest son of the current ruler of Dubai, Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This mosque was built to honor his legacy and contributions to the community. It stands as a testament to the family's commitment to fostering religious and cultural values in Dubai.
This mosque is a significant place of worship for the local Muslim community, providing a serene environment for daily prayers, Friday congregational prayers, and special religious events. It also plays a vital role in community activities, offering educational programs, Quranic studies, and social services. The mosque serves as a center for spiritual growth and community connection, reflecting Dubai's spirit of inclusiveness and hospitality.
Architecturally, the mosque blends traditional Islamic and modern design elements. It features a large central dome flanked by smaller domes and two elegant minarets that gracefully rise towards the sky. The exterior is adorned with intricate geometric patterns and Arabic calligraphy, showcasing the artistry of Islamic architecture. Inside, the prayer hall is spacious and beautifully decorated with chandeliers, luxurious carpets, and a mihrab indicating the direction of Mecca. The design emphasizes aesthetics and functionality, creating a peaceful and inspiring space for worshippers.
As a visitor, the most striking aspect is undoubtedly the contrast between the mosque and the skyscrapers in the background, especially with the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, visible in the distance. The juxtaposition of modern architecture and traditional religious sites offers a diverse travel experience, making me love Dubai even more.

Just back from an incredible 3-day adventure in Dubai, and I’m still buzzing from the experience! 🇦🇪✨
**Day 1:** Kicked off with a visit to the Burj Khalifa—standing at the observation deck was surreal. The view of the cityscape stretching into the horizon was breathtaking. Later, I strolled through The Dubai Mall and marveled at the Dubai Fountain show; the choreography was mesmerizing. Wrapped up the day with a delicious dinner at a rooftop restaurant in Downtown Dubai. 🍽️
**Day 2:** Explored the historic side of Dubai with a trip to the Dubai Creek. Took a traditional abra ride which was a charming way to see the city’s old districts. Spent the afternoon at the Gold and Spice Souks—so much to see and smell! In the evening, I ventured to Jumeirah Beach for some relaxation and sunset views. 🌅
**Day 3:** Dedicated to adventure at the Dubai Desert Safari. Sandboarding and dune bashing were thrilling, and the evening ended with a stunning BBQ dinner in a Bedouin-style camp. Finally, I strolled along the Marina Walk and enjoyed a peaceful end to an action-packed trip. 🌟

"I recently returned from a 7-day trip to Dubai, and I'm still reeling from the experience. From the moment I arrived, I knew I was in for a treat. The city's futuristic skyscrapers, luxurious malls, and vibrant culture made me feel like I was in a different world.
My trip began with a flight from Singapore to Dubai International Airport, which cost me around $500. After arriving, I took a taxi to my hotel in Downtown Dubai, which cost around $20. My hotel was centrally located, making it easy to explore the city.
For the next few days, I explored the city using the efficient metro system, which cost around $1 per ride. Here are some of the top places I visited:
- Burj Khalifa: $30 entrance fee (I went to the observation deck on the 124th floor)
- Dubai Mall: free entrance, but shopping and dining were a must-experience (I saw the Dubai Fountain Show)
- Palm Jumeirah: free entrance, but monorail ride cost $10 (I saw the Atlantis Hotel)
- Dubai Miracle Garden: $15 entrance fee (I saw the stunning floral arrangements)
- Desert Safari: $80 (I went dune bashing, camel riding, and saw the sunset in the desert)
- Dubai Museum: free entrance, but donations welcome (I learned about Dubai's history and culture)
I also took a day trip to Abu Dhabi, which cost around $100 for a return bus ticket. I visited the Sheikh Zayed Mosque and the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
The food in Dubai was incredible, and I had some of the best meals of my life. A traditional Middle Eastern dinner at a local restaurant cost around $20, while a high-end dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant cost around $150. I also tried shawarma, falafel, and machboos.
Here's a breakdown of my expenses:
- Flights: $500
- Accommodation (7 nights): $800
- Food and drink: $500
- Transportation (metro, taxis, etc.): $100
- Activities and entrance fees: $300
- Total: $2,200
I would highly recommend Dubai to anyone looking for a luxurious and cultural experience. The city has something for everyone, and I can't wait to go back."
Unveiling the Mysteries of the Emirate: Dubai Desert
Dubai is a city that Hong Kong residents are likely familiar with. As a transit hub for Emirates Airlines, many Hong Kong travelers pass through this city en route to Europe. But how many have actually stayed and explored this city? This Easter, my friends and I decided to spend three days and two nights in Dubai, attempting to uncover the mysteries of this Middle Eastern emirate.
When in the Middle East, experiencing desert life is a must! Almost every hotel offers various local tours, which can also be booked through travel apps. These tours come in many forms, including half-day, full-day, and even two-day excursions. Activities typically include camel riding, desert 4x4 driving, dune bashing, sandboarding, and desert dinners. Due to time constraints, we opted for a half-day tour, with hotel pick-up and drop-off, heading to the Lahbab Desert near the Oman border. The desert is always sunny, and driving a 4x4 across the vast expanse gives you a sense of having the world at your feet. By dusk, you can enjoy the serene beauty of the setting sun, making it one of the most unforgettable sunsets of your life. Spending Easter in the Middle Eastern desert is truly a dreamlike experience.
Visiting The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina
was an amazing and luxurious experience 🌟. Located on the beach, this resort offers stunning views of the Arabian Gulf 🌊. I relaxed by the large pool and experienced a special spa that provided soothing treatments 🌴. The food was delicious, with various restaurants offering international and tasty dishes 🍽️. Overall, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making the stay a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The Westin Dubai is an ideal destination to enjoy the luxury and comfort of Dubai.
Museum of the Future
Visiting the Museum of the Future in Dubai was truly amazing 🌟. The museum features a unique and innovative architectural design that reflects the spirit of innovation and progress. As soon as I entered, I felt like I had been transported into a world of fantasy and future technology 🌐. I enjoyed exploring the interactive exhibits that showcased ideas and technologies that will shape our future. There was an incredible experience combining virtual reality and artificial intelligence 🤖. The guided tour was inspiring and added a lot of knowledge. The Museum of the Future is a must-visit destination for those who love innovation and technology.
Visiting DRIFT Beach Dubai
was an amazing and luxurious experience 🌴🌊. The beach features soft white sand and clear turquoise waters, making it an ideal place to relax under the sun 🌞. I enjoyed swimming in the infinity pool and relaxing on the comfortable beach beds 🏊♀️. The staff were very friendly and helpful, providing exceptional service 😊. I had a delicious meal at the beach restaurant, which offered a variety of tasty dishes 🍽️. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, giving me the opportunity to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of nature 🍃. It was an unforgettable visit, and I look forward to returning to DRIFT Beach Dubai for more beautiful and luxurious times.

Come to Dubai's One&Only Royal Mirage Hotel - the must-visit Eauzone restaurant
After many years, I stayed again at the One&Only Royal Mirage Resort on Jumeirah Beach in Dubai. This is the first One&Only hotel in Dubai - opened in the same year as the Burj Al Arab, equally majestic and splendid! Originally booked an executive suite - but was told at the front desk that I was upgraded to a Palace suite, which is awesome! The luxurious interior space, the spacious balcony connecting the magnificent living room and dining room, standing on the balcony, you can see the beautiful coastline.
The One&Only Royal Mirage Resort in Dubai is nestled in vibrant and beautiful gardens - located on a one-kilometer-long private coastline, overlooking the enchanting Palm Island, fully showcasing Arabian luxury and splendor, and is an extraordinary seaside resort. Inspired by the rich local traditions, the unique architecture and design vividly interpret the mysterious charm of ancient Arabia, with exquisite and complex arches, domes, and towers standing tall, interspersed with scenic courtyards and lush green lawns.
The Palace suite I stayed in is located in The Palace, a magnificent building standing on the waterfront, surrounded by meandering water, making one feel as if in a tranquil paradise - the Arabian decorations in the lobby, Moroccan latticework, Islamic colored glass, interweave under the lights, telling the story of Dubai's royal extravagance. For a vacation in Dubai - to experience the true royal luxury life, you certainly can't miss this exquisitely beautiful One&Only, and staying at One&Only Royal Mirage, of course, you can't miss the hotel's amazing Asian-flavored Eauzone restaurant. Not only are the dishes and service great - but the environment by the pool is also quite romantic! During the few days I stayed at the hotel, I went to eat lunch and dinner twice in a row, I liked it so much!

Burj Al Arab in Dubai, staying two nights in the Palm Suite~ The view is absolutely stunning! The vacation experience is really great!
The world's first seven-star hotel—Burj Al Arab in Dubai. The exterior of the Burj Al Arab Hotel is designed in the shape of an Arabian dhow sailboat, hence it is often referred to as the 'Sailboat Hotel.' Although the Sailboat Hotel has been open for many years, I still find it as beautiful as when I first saw it. The hotel is very well maintained! This time, I caught an official promotion on Ctrip and booked two nights in the Sky Palm Suite. From the room, you can overlook the entire Palm Jumeirah, and the view is amazing! The Burj Al Arab offers a rich variety of dining and entertainment options. Every time I come, I feel that two nights are not enough to fully experience this luxurious vacation. If time permits, I might stay for three nights next time. The Burj Al Arab is also very suitable for family trips.
All rooms in the hotel offer 180-degree sea views, and all room types are duplex designs. The living room is downstairs, and the bedroom is upstairs, providing very spacious accommodations. Each floor has a private butler ready to assist at any time. The Sky Palm Suite I stayed in is located on the 20th floor, which is relatively high, allowing a panoramic view of Jumeirah Beach and Palm Jumeirah. The room's strong palace style and luxurious decorations are perfectly combined with high-tech features and precious materials. The bathroom amenities include a full set of Hermès products, with separate perfumes and aftershaves for men, and perfumes and body lotions for women. The attention to detail is impeccable!
The hotel's dining options include several world-class restaurants and bars, five swimming pools (three outdoor and two indoor), and a private beach. The other entertainment facilities are also very rich, especially the super exciting Wild Wadi Waterpark, which offers unlimited access to hotel guests.
Staying at the Burj Al Arab, you must not miss the hotel's gorgeous sky pool to enjoy and experience the breathtaking view of the Persian Gulf. At the same time, you can have a SPA, which is relaxing and comfortable, making my vacation time even more enjoyable! The Talise SPA at the Burj Al Arab is luxurious from the moment you step out of the elevator. The connected sky pool and atrium lounge area continue this luxurious style. After swimming here, soaking in the hot tub, taking a sauna, and then having a 90-minute full-body essential oil massage, you feel completely rejuvenated. It's truly amazing!

Only after staying at the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray will you truly experience the fashion and luxury of Arabia!
Dubai's Madinat Jumeirah is a collective name for four hotels under the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray brand - based on an Arabian castle, it's like a mini-city within Dubai, consisting of four hotels and a splendid open-air market. The hotels are: Jumeirah Palace, Summer Palace, and Palace, as well as the Zabeel Saray itself, all spread out next to the Burj Al Arab. The castle canal, these four hotels, along with the Jumeirah Burj Al Arab and the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, are among the most classic areas to experience Arabian culture in Dubai, and are definitely must-visit spots!
I stayed in the Zabeel Saray's Ocean View Suite, which has a huge terrace facing the Burj Al Arab, with views of the Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the Wild Wadi Waterpark - the view and vista are unbeatable! This suite is also the closest to the Burj Al Arab among all the suites in the castle hotel complex - the large terrace is perfect for parties! The Zabeil Saray is the newest of the four palaces in the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray hotel, and unlike the other three glittering desert palaces, Al Naseem is more like a Middle Eastern version of EDITION, with a lot of Islamic elements and Middle Eastern charm in a space full of fashionable design!
The Zabeel Saray is a new part of the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray hotel - showcasing many characteristics of contemporary Dubai, with interior decoration inspired by the vast sand dunes, the gentle sea breeze, Dubai's pearl diving heritage, and the traditions of the Bedouin people. The rooms are mainly in a fresh modern style - creating an exceptionally elegant atmosphere, with wide terraces bringing in the outdoor scenery, lush gardens adjoining the beach, giving a relaxed and tranquil vibe. The various pools in the hotel are also great places for water fun!
The castle canal, these four hotels, along with the Jumeirah Burj Al Arab and the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, are among the most classic areas to experience Arabian culture in Dubai, and are definitely must-visit spots! The restaurants here also present different new fashion and dynamic elements - sharing two of my favorite restaurants! The trendy Mediterranean restaurant Rockfish is delicious and photogenic! The exquisite Japanese restaurant Kayto is a very special Japanese cuisine, with restaurant decorations and exquisite dishes that are both beautiful and delicious - and what's more, the restaurant has an excellent view and landscape, with the Burj Al Arab right outside the window, absolutely beautiful!
