Screaming on the Slide Is Super Thrilling😱] 📍Location: Guangdong Guanyin Mountain National Forest Park 🚗Starting point: Dongguan East Railway Station (based on an ordinary visitor's experience) 🌞 My Trips Schedule 09:00 Depart from Dongguan East Railway Station → 10:30 Arrive at the north gate of the scenic area (there is a convenience store at the gate where you can buy water; I thought I would have to climb the mountain) 15:30 Return trip → 16:40 Arrive back in the city --- 🚄 Transportation Options Tested ▶High-speed train + taxi (recommended!) Take the high-speed train from Dongguan East Railway Station to Zhangmutou Railway Station (27 mins/CNY 8) → Take a 10-min taxi ride from the station to the north gate of the scenic area (CNY 25) (We took a taxi directly from Dongguan East Railway Station, which took about 30 mins) ▶Driving experience Navigate to “Xianquan Reservoir parking lot”. We arrived at 10:00, and the parking lot wasn't very crowded. --- 🎢 My Itinerary 10:30–12:00 Easy climb up the mountain ✅ Take the sightseeing bus to Laoxianyan (CNY 20/person, 15 mins; we took this, it's very fast!) ✅ Walk the “Xiangongling Trail” to the top (40 mins, gentle slope) 12:00–13:00 Must-dos at the mountaintop ▪️ Follow the locals and walk around the Guanyin statue three times to pray for blessings ▪️ The “vegetarian goose rice” at the vegetarian restaurant was surprisingly delicious (CNY 38) 13:30–14:00 Screaming on the slide! ⚠️ Here comes the highlight! The 886m slide is so thrilling! - CNY 30 for single riders, CNY 50 for two riders (but they will directly put you in anti-abrasion pants; it cost us CNY 60 for two people, and it's recommended to wear them) - The first half was super exciting with acceleration, and the second half with S-curves almost made my phone fly out😂 (it's up to you whether you want to take your phone out to take pictures) ▶Starting point ✅ 200m west of the Guanyin statue at the mountaintop (look for the orange awning) ✅ Specific route: After worshipping the Guanyin statue → walk towards the restroom → turn right when you see the “High-altitude Slide” sign ▶Ending point ✅ Next to the Laoxianyan parking lot (near the entrance to Xianquan Waterfall, where you get off the sightseeing bus) ✅ After sliding down, it's a 5-min walk to Gan’en Lake 14:30–15:30 Bonus at the foot of the mountain ▫️ Bought super fragrant salt-baked chicken wings (CNY 15/bag) --- 🍗 Food Review ▶Vegetarian Restaurant at the Mountaintop Recommended: “Vegetarian goose rice” ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Soybean products that actually taste like meat!) Avoid: “Health tea” ❌ (just ordinary chrysanthemum tea sold for CNY 15) ▶Snack stalls at the north gate Hakka Sticky Rice Cake ⭐⭐⭐ (glutinous but a bit too sweet) Tofu pudding with ginger syrup ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (CNY 3, cheap and thirst-quenching) --- 💡 Suggestions ① Wear sneakers! My friend wore skate shoes and almost slipped. ② Apple phones have poor signal at the top of the mountain, but Android phones are not affected. ③ Wear pants on the slide! ④ For those driving, go down the mountain early to avoid traffic jams. The one-day tour is worth it. If you're short on time, two hours is enough. You can visit Guanyin Mountain in the morning and go to other places in the afternoon. It's quite remote and public transportation is not convenient. The bus stop is 1 km away from the scenic area entrance, so it's recommended to take a taxi.
