Stream Trekking & Camping | Escape with Kids into Moganshan's 25°C Summer Bamboo Forest

A while ago, I took my daughter Ximi to Huzhou for a few days to let her experience stream trekking and camping ⛺, something she can't experience at home. While Ximi and Grandma were happily playing at the guesthouse, my dad and I immediately set off to find a campsite suitable for water activities. After comparing Sihe Village and Yulinba, we decisively chose Xibei Village! ❤️Why Choose Xibei Village 1️⃣ Secluded and Quiet: The day we went was not a weekend, so there were few people and the scenery was beautiful, plus there was a spacious parking lot. (Yulinba also has beautiful scenery, but there were really too many people. We didn't want to be in a crowd, so we decisively gave up on it.) 2️⃣ Safe and Gentle: The stream water is shallow and flows slowly, suitable for young babies to wade and catch shrimp. (The water flow in Sihe Village is a bit rapid, which can be a bit dangerous for young babies to enter the water.) 3️⃣ Plenty of Shade: Bamboo forests on both banks provide shade, so you can happily play in the water without being exposed to the sun. 4️⃣ Camping Freedom: There are two small steps next to the parking lot, making it very convenient to carry things. You can set up camp as soon as you go down. (However, because the banks are rocky, if you set up a tarp, the guy ropes need to be tied to rocks.) 🧡 Site Selection Suggestions: Two Recommended Spots in Xibei Village 1️⃣ Spot One: Navigate to "Xibei Village Parking Lot" (see Fig. 12). Follow the small path to the water's edge, where there's a "substitute" dam similar to Yulinba. There are large yellow ducks and kayaks, which are great for photos, but you cannot set up tarps or tents. There's a campsite nearby with a good environment, but because the campsite is on a small hill next to the dam, it's not very convenient if you want to play in the water and eat at the same time. But if you're just playing in the water and taking photos, this is also a good choice 👍. 2️⃣ Spot Two: Navigate to "One Campsite" (this is where we chose, see Fig. 13). Turn right into a small path before reaching the small stone bridge, there's a parking lot. Go down two steps to reach the water's edge. You can set up your tarp in the water. The opposite bank is a bamboo forest, cool and pleasant 👍👍. 💛 Water Play Highlights 1️⃣ Stream Trekking Adventure: Walk upstream along the stream. The pebbles at the bottom are smooth, and there are small shrimp under some rocks. Ximi was super excited moving rocks and catching shrimp 😆😆. 2️⃣ Natural "Air Conditioning": Bamboo forest + stream, plus a shading tarp, the perceived temperature instantly drops, super cool. 3️⃣ Hidden Gem: There's a small path to the right after crossing the small stone bridge. It leads to the depths of the bamboo forest, but if you want to explore, be sure to take mosquito and insect repellent measures 🐞. 💚 Equipment List 1️⃣ Camping Gear: Tarp, tent, tables and chairs, and your favorite food 🥩🍣🍈🍻. 2️⃣ Water Play Gear: Water gun, folding bucket, small fishing net, quick-dry clothing, stream trekking shoes, sun hat. (For young babies, you can also bring swimsuits and waterproof pull-up diapers, or remember to bring several changes of clothes 😂). Compared to crowded influencer spots, this is the stream trekking paradise I've always wanted! Ximi had a blast, and I finally achieved a "lie-flat parenting" experience ✌️.
