Hidden Gem: Ancient Ruins Currently Being Excavated

The city was destroyed by a massive earthquake, and surprisingly, full-scale excavation only began recently. Currently, excavation and restoration work are ongoing. The Laodicea Church, considered the seventh oldest in the world, was swarming with flies, which made the visit quite challenging... 💧 That said, the numerous stone columns, temple ruins, agora, theater, and other structures hint at how magnificent this city must have been, rivaling Ephesus. It was truly breathtaking. The site is quite expansive, and exploring it thoroughly would take at least three hours. Since it’s located on a remote hilltop, it’s best to plan your itinerary carefully before visiting!
