Boring Dalian

Accommodation: Stayed at the Hello Hotel Zhongshan Square branch. The hotel is quite new, with excellent service. It offers free access to washing machines and dryers, as well as ice cubes. The breakfast is also abundant and delicious. For someone from the island of Taiwan, Dalian is really quite boring. The seaside scenery is not appealing at all. The night market is small and mediocre. The only somewhat unique spot is Xinghai Square, where there are a lot of seagulls. The Heishijiao National Geopark is also just average. The Venice Water City has some nice architecture, but it doesn't compare to the real Venice. Russian Street is just a street lined with souvenir shops on both sides. Dongguan Street, with its Japanese-style European imitation architecture, looks decent and is quite clean. As for the Sea Melody's Undersea Grand Canyon, it's even less impressive—just a sloping path leading to the seaside, hardly a canyon. Overall, Dalian has fewer tourists, so it's not crowded, but in general, it's pretty boring.
