Highly recommend it to all friends visiting Dali~ Location & Transportation: Core area of the ancient city, super convenient for getting around Located at No. 165 Yeyu Road, Dali Ancient City, in a small alley near Erhai Gate, perfectly embodying "quiet amidst the noise." A 200-meter walk to Foreigner Street, 300 meters to Renmin Road, and right outside are various Bai cuisine restaurants and stone slab grills. There’s also a big supermarket across the street, so no worries about eating, shopping, or strolling. Special praise for transportation! It’s very easy to get a taxi to the alley entrance, and driving to Longkan Pier takes just over ten minutes. The stone-paved roads in the ancient city make dragging luggage difficult, but if you contact the host in advance, they will pick you up at the city entrance and can even transport your luggage by tricycle, so you don’t have to struggle at all. If you drive yourself, parking is 30 yuan per night, very hassle-free. Rooms: The rooms come in different styles, including Nordic with projectors and Japanese-style new Chinese solid wood furniture rooms, all very stylish. The mattresses are from Serta with latex, and the down comforters are soft like clouds, letting you sleep soundly until morning every day. The cleanliness is impeccable; you won’t find a single water stain in the shower, and the housekeeper cleans thoroughly every day. Highly recommend the "Cloud Viewing" room with a terrace; some rooms even have bathtubs and starry skylights, perfect for lying down and counting stars at night. Newlyweds can also book honeymoon decoration services. Toiletries are from Shiseido, and they provide Pu'er tea and Dianhong tea, with attention to every detail. Public Area: The common area is perfect for zoning out! Natural wood tea tables with carved stools, calligraphy and tea art decorations on the walls, and a bookshelf with leisure reading. In the evening, you can brew a pot of tea here or chat with the owner, and all your workday anxieties will melt away. Dining: The homestay only serves breakfast and afternoon tea, but every item hits the spot! Breakfast is freshly made; shrimp scrambled eggs with whole wheat toast are amazing, the eggs so tender they drip water. A friend ordered pancakes topped with the owner’s homemade blueberry sauce, not overly sweet at all. Afternoon tea is a fixed combo: Basque cheesecake + Earl Grey tea. The cheesecake is dense but not greasy, and the staff will remind you, “The second steep for 3 minutes is the most fragrant.” There are also homemade flower cakes and goodnight sweet soups daily. When leaving, the owner even packed some osmanthus crisps as a snack—so thoughtful. Nearby Attractions: Easily unlock Dali experiences A 5-minute walk to the Bedsheet Factory Art District, a must-visit for artsy youth. A 15-minute taxi ride to Fengyangyi Village, a spot to check in at the same Tea Horse Road featured in "To the Windy Place." The homestay can arrange a car rental around Erhai Lake for 350 yuan/day, very cost-effective and less hassle than finding a car yourself. If you want to catch the market, the March Street on the 2nd and 9th of each lunar month is great for finding treasures and eating grilled milk cheese. Practical Tips: 1. Book at least 1 month in advance during peak season, especially for rooms with terraces—don’t miss out. 2. The UV rays in Dali are very strong; the homestay provides aloe vera gel, so remember to apply sunscreen daily. 3. It’s especially quiet at night; no need to set an alarm, you’ll naturally wake up to birdsong.
