dali old town

#TravelChina Dali Old Town in late October, the leaves were just beginning to change color throughout the city. The oranges and reds blended with the greens of the trees along the lake. It was truly beautiful. Strolling along, it felt like you were transported to another world, as the city still retains its ancient charm, complete with old walls, city gates, and old-style wooden buildings. We started our walk from the South Gate (Cheng'en Gate) through Renmin Road, a pedestrian street lined with handicraft shops, coffee shops, and souvenir shops. We stopped at Cafe de Coral for a hot cup of coffee while admiring the changing leaves. The atmosphere was beautiful and peaceful, perfect for taking photos. In the afternoon, we walked to Erhai Lake, crossing a small wooden bridge. The lake view was breathtakingly beautiful. We recommend renting a bicycle to cycle around the lake. The cool breeze and the beautiful photos you can post on Instagram without much editing. At noon, we stopped at Bai Family Kitchen, a small restaurant with outstanding food. We tried the Bai Roast Pork Rice and the Salt-Grilled Erhai Fish. The atmosphere was incredibly delicious and fresh, making us feel like we were at a friend's house. In the afternoon, we walked up to Wuhua Lou (Wuhua Tower) to enjoy the view of the old town and the Cangshan Mountains, their vibrant colors contrasting with the changing leaves. The photo spots are absolutely stunning. Then, we strolled through Foreigner's Street, stopping at antique and handicraft shops. We picked up some souvenirs, including chocolates and small wooden carvings. In the evening, we had a meal on the pedestrian street. I recommend Three Brothers Restaurant, which has a great atmosphere and live music. Recommended dishes include the Bai herb roast pork and fresh local vegetable salad. The prices are affordable, but the quality is excellent. Overall, Dali Old Town is incredibly beautiful. The changing leaves are a sight to behold. You won't get bored walking around all day. For those who enjoy photography and the atmosphere of the old town, I recommend visiting from late October to early November.
