Lan Er Ge Mushroom Hotpot in Dali Ancient Town

If you're visiting Dali Ancient Town and looking for a place to have dinner, I highly recommend trying the mushroom hotpot, a signature dish of Yunnan Province, especially in the Kunming and Dali areas. This restaurant is conveniently located right across from the city gate. The atmosphere is spacious with plenty of seating. However, the staff doesn't speak English, so you'll need to use a translation app to communicate. Eventually, we ordered a set meal for 350 yuan, which was enough for five people. The set includes over ten types of mushrooms, and the staff will cook them for you. You need to time the boiling process for 18 minutes before you can start eating. Additionally, there’s grilled meat, delicious fried rice, and a dish similar to spicy chicken feet salad from Thailand. You can customize the dipping sauce to your liking. Rice and soup are provided for free. Overall, the mushroom hotpot has a mild flavor, reminiscent of Chinese herbal soup. The mushrooms are tasty, with some unique varieties that are fun to try. The black chicken meat is particularly delicious. If you're visiting Dali, this is definitely worth a try.
