Beautiful guesthouses I've stayed at in Dali

I really love the relaxed and laid-back atmosphere of Dali, the sun, the water, the food, and the pace of life. So, I went there again for Lunar New Year. Following up on my last post, I'll share a few more hotels/guesthouses I stayed at in Dali this time. 1. Thousand Hills Inn Dali Erhai (Haidong) This was my favorite hotel of the trip. I couldn't book it last time I was in Dali. The hotel only has six rooms, and the common area downstairs is also a cafe that's open to the public. The overall service is excellent. The rooms even have care packages specifically for women (including a pack of portable face towels, sanitary napkins, and wet wipes). There are also snacks and fruit (all from Sam's Club) provided in the room. The rooms have record players, projectors, Dyson hair dryers, and laundry service. The rooms are spacious and relatively quiet, with a 270-degree panoramic view of the sea. The overall decor is very comfortable, perfect for spending the whole day relaxing in the hotel. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, but there are many restaurants nearby to choose from. The hotel breakfast is pretty good, and they also offer complimentary afternoon tea. The butler service is also quite good. I also tried the local traditional rubbing technique, which was very interesting. 2. Lake Mountain Cloud Shade Shuanglang Erhai This hotel is located in Shuanglang Ancient Town, and it was another one I couldn't book last time. It's the only English-style garden hotel in Shuanglang, and even in all of Dali. It's truly beautiful! The garden is exceptionally well-maintained, and it should be even more beautiful in the spring. The rooms are also beautifully decorated, with solid wood furniture and various lovely plants. The retro English style feels very homey. The butler is incredibly attentive! It truly makes you feel at home. The breakfast is also delicious. The hotel has its own afternoon tea and restaurant, so you can dine there as well. If you love taking photos, this guesthouse is a must-try. 3. Yi Xi Tian Yuan Xizhou Ancient Town I didn't stay in Xizhou last time I was in Dali, so I chose to stay there for a day this time. I found this guesthouse online and loved its style! I've realized I really like this kind of all-solid-wood, mid-century modern style. The owner told me that all the furniture was custom-made by a studio. However, the overall service and hygiene of this guesthouse were rather average (I found a cockroach in the room, and there was a long hair in my breakfast). There was no welcome fruit or afternoon tea. Although the hotel said they provide free fruit and coffee during your stay, they don't offer it proactively. Overall, compared to other guesthouses in Dali, it's just average. If you simply like the design, you can give it a try. 4. Ji Xia Shan Shaxi Garden Guesthouse I didn't visit Shaxi last time, so I made a special trip there this time. It's very comfortable, and I plan to find some time to stay in Shaxi. The overall service and environment of the hotel are quite good. The rooms are clean and tidy, with underfloor heating, humidifiers, etc. The breakfast is also very good, with welcome fruit, afternoon tea, and a goodnight sweet soup. The service is good, and the common area is beautiful. It's a great place to relax and spend the whole day.
