Dali Ganghuizangbuzhu Erhai Park

Start your Dali trip from Erhai Park. Erhai Park is located in the east of Xiaguan City and the south bank of Erhai Lake. It was originally a small island surrounded by sea water. It was formerly known as Xilong Mountain. After the Ming Dynasty, due to the decline of the water level, the mountain looked like a group from Xiaguan, so it was renamed Tuan Mountain. Now it is connected to the land, and the local government has built Erhai Park here. Climb to the top of the mountain and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake. Get up early and come to the south gate of the park. There is a square at the entrance. There are long steps on the hillside behind the square, which go straight to the mountainside and lead to the mountain. The park is long and narrow, wide from east to west and short from north to south. The current location is in the middle. To the east are amusement parks and zoos, and to the west are Wanghailou, Rhododendron Garden, etc., and to the direction of Xiaguan, so I decided to go west. Go up the mountain road and soon reach the top of the mountain and see the gate of the Camellia Garden. Enter the garden and finally see Erhai Lake for the first time. The smoke is vast and boundless. From here to the east via Lanyue Pavilion, you will reach the highest point called "Vision". The terrain here is open, and there are businesses here to build a sky mirror landscape, which is an excellent viewing platform. There are pavilions and pavilions in the Camellia Garden, and the environment is beautiful. People exercise, walk, and play here. There is even a restaurant inside. If you come here during the blooming season of camellia, it will be even more charming. After leaving the Camellia Garden, continue to walk west along the path on the top of the mountain. This area is a rhododendron garden, which is an open park. Walk all the way to an abandoned factory building, and a white pavilion emerges from the wall. Standing here, you can already see the road at the foot of the mountain by Erhai Lake, and the buildings in the city under Cangshan Mountain by Erhai Lake are also clearly visible. The stone steps down the mountain are named Qujing Tongyou, and you will come to the foot of the mountain. There is a memorial archway in the middle of the road at the foot of the mountain, with the words "Bai Er Shan He" written on the plaque, and "Erhai Park" on the back. "Bai Er Shan He" is an idiom from "Historical Records", which means a place with dangerous mountains and rivers. During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, Yang Shen, the number one scholar, was demoted to Baoshan. When he passed by Dali, he wrote this plaque and hung it on the city tower of Yulong Pass in Xiaguan, but it was lost later. In the 1980s, when Erhai Park was expanded, the plaque was remade and placed on the gate of Erhai Park.
