Erhai Lake, Dali, Yunnan- a chilled person’s paradise!!!

I travelled to Dali in early March - the weather is lovely during 11am-4pm (temperature will be past 20c, sunshine and a nice breeze!) and outside of those times it can get quite cold and a jacket is definitely needed. I rented a bike for roughly RMB40 (USD6?) per day, the ballon was RMB25 and flowers also RMB25, I got the flowers from a random store near my hostel- I only got the ballon and flowers as it was really pretty but it was definitely an “aesthetic purchase.” The bike ride was so good that I ended up doing it on 2 days as the lake is roughly 40km and since it was such a leisure ride for me I took it pretty easy. I stopped half way through at a random coffee shop on both days and hearing the sound of the lake was so peaceful whilst enjoying a piece of cake plus coffee. It’s a bit pricey for the area -coffee was around RMB50 but I’d say totally worth it for the view!#dali #dali #yunnan #erhai #erhailake #coffee #coffee

✨ Wandering Through Dali, Yunnan ☁️ ✨ Yunnan has always been on my travel wish list, and this time I finally made it to Dali — a dreamlike town surrounded by mountains and the sparkling Erhai Lake 🌊⛰️. Every corner here feels like it’s been kissed by the wind and painted by sunlight 🎨☀️. 🚙💨 Our first stop was the Jeep Flower Field 🌸🌼 — a sea of colorful blooms stretching endlessly, with classic Jeeps parked for that perfect “wanderlust” photo moment 📸✨. Standing among the flowers, I could feel the peace and freedom that only nature can give . Next, we visited the Santorini-style spot 💙🏛️ — pure white buildings with blue domes overlooking Erhai Lake. For a second, I almost forgot I was in China and felt like I was in Greece 🇬🇷💭. The breeze from the lake carried the scent of sunshine and freedom. Then came the Lovers’ Bridge 🌉💞 — a romantic spot said to bring good luck in love. Even the air here feels softer and sweeter 🕊️💕. Maybe wishes really do travel across the bridge to the sky ✨. Of course, no trip to Dali is complete without exploring the Ancient Town 🏮⛩️ — cobblestone streets, vintage teahouses, and local crafts everywhere. I sipped rose tea 🌹🍵, listened to street musicians 🎶, and watched time slow down. And finally, standing by Erhai Lake at sunset 🌅, watching the colors melt into the horizon, I felt completely at peace. The reflection of the mountains, the sound of waves, and the cool breeze reminded me — sometimes, happiness is just being here, now 💫💖. 🌈✨ Dali, you’ve captured my heart — I’ll be back again someday 💌 #Dali #Yunnan #TravelDiaries #ErhaiLake #Wanderlust #SlowLife #TravelMoments 🌸🌊💙

Erhai Lake Winter Escape: Blue Skies & Cherry Blossoms Await 🌸🏞️ Visit Dali’s Erhai Lake in winter and you’ll catch a stunning blend of crystal-clear blue sky, crisp air, and the delicate surprise of cherry blossoms along the shore! This season is perfect for a peaceful, photogenic escape. Recommended Route: Start your day cycling or e-biking the lakeside road (rentals are easy in Dali Ancient Town) and stop at must-see villages like Shuanglang for cozy cafés, or Xizhou for old Bai architecture. Set out early to enjoy the mirror-like morning reflections on Erhai and spot hidden cherry blossom lanes—especially near Caicun and Haidong villages. Practical Visiting Tips: Go midweek for fewer crowds and easier café reservations. Winter here is sunny but chilly (bring layers!). If you’re after cherry blossom shots, visit early January—local drivers know all the hidden blossom nooks. It’s easy to bike, but roads can be slippery after rain. Don’t forget a power bank for all those lakeside shots! #Dali #ErhaiLake #WinterTravel #CherryBlossom #ChinaNature
