[Da Nang] Linh Ung Pagoda

#AbsolutelyFreeTrip I went to LinhUng Pagoda, the symbol of Da Nang! The 67m tall Kannon statue stands on the heights of Son Tra Peninsula, like a goddess watching over the sea. The white giant statue can be seen from anywhere, and its magnificent presence is overwhelming! Stepping inside the temple grounds, you will find yourself in a quiet space surrounded by nature. The garden with 18 arhat statues and the roof of the main hall decorated with dragons give a sense of harmony between Vietnamese Buddhism and modern architecture. Since I visited early in the morning, the soft morning sun lit up the Kannon statue, and the contrast with the deep blue sea behind it was breathtaking. The chirping of the birds and the cool breeze from the mountains helped to ease my mind. You can also see the city of Da Nang, the beautiful My Khe Beach, and Cham Island from the heights.
