Panama Canal

The Panama Canal (Spanish: Canal de Panamá, English: Panama Canal) is located in the central part of the Republic of Panama in Central America, running through the Panama Isthmus, presenting a northwest-southeast direction, and is a lock-type canal connecting the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. The canal is 81.3 kilometers long, the narrowest part is 152 meters, and the widest part is 304 meters. The water depth is 13~15 meters, the water level of the entire canal is 26 meters higher than the two oceans, and the area extending 16.09 kilometers from the centerline of the canal is the Panama Canal Zone, with a total area of 1432 square kilometers.
