A romantic stroll through Colmar, a fairytale town in France 🍃 📝

Stepping into Colmar, Alsace, France, is like entering a true fairytale world. The old town is filled with colorful half-timbered houses, and a canal meanders through the city; the scenery of La Petite Venise is postcard-perfect. Sitting by the canal, sipping coffee and watching the boats glide by is the epitome of Colmar's slow-paced romance. Among these is the Maison Pfister. This 16th-century building boasts a magnificent exterior, with exquisite details in its wooden balconies and murals. It's not only a Colmar landmark but is also considered one of the inspirations for the Howl house in Hayao Miyazaki's *Howl's Moving Castle*. Standing in front of the building and looking up, you feel as if you've stepped into a fantasy story. A little surprise awaits while strolling in Colmar—you'll often see the "Statue of Liberty symbol" on the ground. Actually, the designer of the Statue of Liberty, Bartholdi, was from Colmar. Following the signs will lead you to the Statue of Liberty (but I checked and it was 3 kilometers away, so I decided to give up 🤣).
