The perfect combo of cycling and camping

Giving up the crowded National Day crowds, we took the kids on a 140km cycling challenge! A thought in mid-September led to the coolest National Day trip ever. Three families, a team of 11, including 5 little cyclists 🚴. We decided to explore Qiandao Lake in autumn through cycling and camping. ▪️ About the "moving house" style camping For this special occasion, we practically moved half our home. Tents, speakers, projector, tables and chairs, camping stove, power banks... The biggest headache was the 9 bikes and support vehicles, all sorted! ▪️ 73km vs 140km, both warriors We planned a 140km loop around the lake, but this National Day was as hot as summer. Yet the kids amazed everyone! The moms and kids squad toughly completed 73km, every drop of sweat a badge of growth. The dads’ team successfully conquered the full 140km, super inspiring! ▪️ Nighttime brought exclusive surprise bonuses First night: We accidentally found a hidden gem campsite with beautiful surroundings and full facilities, and best of all — we had it all to ourselves! Barbecue and singing till late, a party under the stars just for our three families. Second night: A sudden rain shower seemed like a small setback but led us to an “exclusive spot” — a stunning standalone villa. Three rooms shared by two families, comfort maxed out. Though the trip didn’t reach 100% of our goals, the kids’ resilience, the support from friends, and every unexpected surprise made it incredibly memorable. So don’t hesitate!
