The theme of this 3-day, 2-night trip is a relaxing walk through the city, tracing the footsteps of cafe culture, nature, and reconstruction. On the first day, we arrived in the evening and checked into the Rosewood Court Motel in the city center. This homey inn allowed us to reset our tiredness from our trip. We had a light dinner at a nearby restaurant and rested up for the next day. On the second day, we started our cafe tour in the morning. First, we had coffee and a light meal at the stylish and minimalist Akin Cafe. Next, we went to C4 Coffee Co., which has a roasting facility, where we enjoyed the original taste of the beans. And finally, we went to C1 Espresso, where the food is served in their specialty tubes. This place combines humor and deliciousness. After the cafe tour, we headed to the vast Christchurch Botanic Gardens. We took a leisurely stroll through the beautiful lawns, seasonal flowers, and historic greenhouses. I was surprised to see such abundant nature in the city. I also stopped by the Cardboard Cathedral, a symbol of the city after the earthquake, and quietly put my hands together in prayer. The gelato I tried at Rollickin Gelato on the way was also excellent. It was a sweet break perfect for a stroll, and the quality of the ingredients was apparent. On the third day, I checked out early in the morning and headed to the next town. Christchurch is a city where you can feel the strength of nature, cafes, and people.
