This time, I took my parents on a super-chilled Citywalk. This day's itinerary showcased the city's iconic landmarks: the bustling pedestrian street, the spectacular light rail ride, a prayer at Luohan Temple, and finally, a local barbecue. Chongqing isn't just about hotpot; nighttime is also perfect for a "night view + barbecue" combo. A perfect way to relax and explore with your parents—kill two birds with one stone! Chongqing Citywalk One-Day Attractions Roundup 📍 Guanyin Bridge Pedestrian Street Located in Jiangbei District, it's a top choice for shopping. Open year-round, it's convenient for morning or evening strolls. The spacious streets are perfect for a leisurely stroll with the elderly. A mix of specialty stores and trendy local shops offers everything from niche clothing for mom to electronics for dad. Take a photo with the mall's large sculptures, which create a vibrant atmosphere. Sit down for a coffee or milk tea—it's a breeze. 📍 Luohan Temple A quiet corner of the city, located at F2 of Fosun International Center at the intersection of Wuyi Road and Minzu Road in Yuzhong District, opens at 7:30 AM, making it a great place to avoid the crowds in the morning or afternoon. The temple is incredibly tranquil, perfect for bringing your parents to pray, admire the architecture, and experience the tranquility of Chongqing's old city. The temple isn't large, but it's rich in history. Elderly people especially enjoy sitting under the ginkgo trees. Remember to arrive before 5:20 PM, or ticket sales will close. 📍 Liziba Light Rail Station This station has become a popular Instagram-worthy spot, and the sight of the subway passing through the building is perfect for photo ops. The station is located at Liziba Subway Station in Yuzhong District, open from 7 AM to 11 PM, making it convenient even on weekends. Bring your parents here to experience the city's creativity. You can see the light rail passing through the building from a distance, and many photographers are there to capture the spectacular moment. While crowded during the day, the atmosphere is wonderful. Bringing your family to the station at night allows you to enjoy the night view, a truly Chongqing experience. 📍 Huang Yuming BBQ Having a barbecue on our last night was such a great ending! Huang Yuming BBQ offers a wide variety of grilled meats in generous portions. The Chongqing-style skewers and butter-grilled vegetables are highly recommended. Chatting around the small stove with your parents while enjoying the city's night view is truly charming. The average price per person is reasonable, making it a great value. We recommend arriving early to queue up. Itinerary Tips: 1. Don't rush your parents on CityWalk. Take a leisurely stroll through Guanyin Bridge Pedestrian Street, stopping at random moments. 2. Avoid peak hours for temple visits and photo ops; morning or evening offers a more tranquil experience. 3. Visit Liziba Light Rail Station at dusk or evening to see not only the trains but also the Chongqing nightscape. 4. Arrive early for nighttime barbecues. The combination of barbecue and Chongqing's nighttime atmosphere will make your parents feel like they've had a great meal. Transportation Tips: Guanyinqiao Pedestrian Street and Luohan Temple are both located in the city center, making them easily accessible by subway and taxi. We recommend taking Line 1 from Liziba Light Rail Station. Staying at the FunGee Riverview Hotel, located next to Hongyadong Cave and boasting stunning river views, this itinerary combines the city's nightscape with its spectacular transportation. From the hotel, you'll be just a few steps from the bustling Jiefangbei Monument, and then just around the corner for a breathtaking journey to the Liziba Monorail viewing platform. This itinerary's key takeaway is its convenient transportation and incredibly comfortable hotels. If you're looking for viral photos or to experience Chongqing's nightlife, this is the perfect choice! Recommended Attractions: 1. Liziba Monorail Observation Deck Address: No. 62, Liziba Main Street, Yuzhong District, Chongqing Opening Hours: 6:30 AM - 11:00 PM year-round This area is known as Chongqing's "magical calling card." The subway and light rail line passes directly through the center of the residential building. Every time a train arrives, countless tourists snap photos with their cameras, making it a must-see for anyone wanting to check in to Chongqing. Visiting in the morning or evening is recommended to avoid the crowds. Transportation from Hongyadong and Jiefangbei is convenient. Take the subway directly to Liziba Station, and the observation deck is a short walk away. It's very user-friendly. There's an official photo booth and giant photo frame on site. For photography enthusiasts, don't forget to bring your flash or ultra-wide-angle lens! 2. FunGee Riverview Hotel (Chongqing Hongyadong Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street Branch) Address: 21F, Building C, Goldman Sachs Chuangfu Center, 113 Binjiang Road This riverview hotel is highly recommended! Upon arrival, you can enjoy the night view of the Jialing River. The twinkling lights outside the window are truly relaxing. The hotel's amenities are incredibly smart, with voice control, complimentary drinks, a mini-fridge, and thoughtful snacks like popcorn, ice cream, and nighttime porridge. You won't want to leave! The staff is also very attentive and responsive to any questions. The hotel is right next to Hongya Cave, so you can take photos of the cave's nightscape from the doorstep. Downstairs, you'll find a pedestrian street offering a wide range of dining, entertainment, and fun activities. Breakfast is open until 1 PM, so you don't have to worry about staying in. The freshly cooked Chongqing noodles are a must-try. The only caveat is that some guests have reported the soundproofing is average, but if you're mainly looking to explore and only consider the hotel a place to sleep, it won't be a problem at all. Practical tips for your trip (based on my personal experience): - From Hongya Cave to Liziba, I recommend taking the subway. Chongqing's transportation is so convenient these days that you rarely have to worry about getting lost. - The hotel allows for late breakfast, so you can sleep in naturally. Free laundry and drying services are also available, making it very convenient for extended stays. - Comfortable shoes are essential, as Hongyadong and the surrounding pedestrian streets require some leg strength. Remember to bring a sunshade, as Chongqing can experience occasional sudden rain. - If noise insulation is a concern during your stay, please contact the front desk in advance to adjust your room type. - For photos of the Liziba Monorail crossing the building, it's recommended to plan your route well in advance, as the subway arrives at the station to capture the perfect "subway crossing" moment! Transportation & Food Recommendations: - Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street near Hongyadong offers a variety of delicious food.
