🌳 Doi Inthanon National Park, also known as the "Roof of Thailand," covers 482 square kilometers in Chiang Mai Province, northern Thailand. Part of the Himalayan mountain range, the park ranges from 800 to 2,565 meters above sea level. The park's highest peak, Doi Inthanon, is the highest peak in Thailand. The park enjoys high humidity and cool weather year-round. 🌳 The park is named in honor of King Inthawichayanon, one of the last kings of Chiang Mai. His concern for the forests of northern Thailand and his desire to preserve them were entombed in the park. Following his death, his remains were interred in the park at his behest. This forest was subsequently renamed Doi Inthanon. 🌳 Admission Fee: Thais pay 60 baht for adults and 30 baht for children, 30 baht for cars, and 20 baht for bicycles. Foreigners pay 300 baht for adults and 150 baht for children aged 3-14. ⏰ Opening Hours: Doi Inthanon National Park is open daily from 5:30 AM to 6:30 PM year-round. The Kew Mae Pan hiking trail, the park's main trail, is closed to visitors from June to October for annual forest restoration. 🧗♂️ Activities: The headquarters has a spacious camping area located almost in the center of the park. The nearest attraction is Siritharn Waterfall, the only waterfall within easy walking distance. The summit of Doi Inthanon is the park's most popular viewpoint. The viewpoint from the main road at the start of the Kew Mae Pan trailhead is popular for watching the sunrise, but the two nearby pagodas are even more popular for watching the sunset. There are only a few waterfalls along the route to the headquarters, which are just a short walk from the main road. Most of the waterfalls have flowing water year-round. However, the strongest flow is during the rainy season, from May to November.
