น้ำตกแม่ยะ Mae Ya Waterfall สุขสงบธรรมชาติที่โดนใจ

Where is it located? Mae Ya Waterfall is located in Doi Inthanon National Park, Chom Thong District, Chiang Mai Province. Driving from Chiang Mai City takes approximately 1.5–2 hours, depending on traffic and starting point. Beauty & Size • Mae Ya Waterfall is a 30-tiered waterfall, reaching over 260 meters high. • During high water levels (such as during the rainy season), the waterfall's tiers can reach as wide as 100 meters, creating a dramatic curtain of water cascading down the cliff. • The surrounding nature is lush, with mature trees, moss, and ferns, and the cool, clear water is perfect for those seeking relaxation and fresh air. Accessibility & Difficulties • Driving your own car is the most convenient option – the main road is fairly well-maintained. After entering Chom Thong District, the road can be rough or narrow in some sections, but overall, it's accessible. • Parking is available right in front of the waterfall entrance. Park and walk about 500–600 meters from the parking lot to the waterfall. • The walkway to the waterfall itself isn't particularly challenging, but it can be quite slippery, especially after rain. Be careful and wear shoes with good grip. Impressive Features • The sound of flowing water, the smell of the forest air, and the coolness of the water combine to help reset your fatigue. Once you reach the waterfall, you can clearly see the large waterfall, and the curtain of water flowing down the cliff is especially impressive. • During the morning or weekdays, there aren't as many people. The atmosphere is calmer than you might expect. • The water is clear in some areas where you can swim. Be careful about strong currents and slippery rocks, but overall, many people say the water is "icy cold." It's very refreshing. Precautions / Limitations • If you go during heavy rain, the path may be slippery, muddy, and there's a risk of flash floods or flash floods. Check the weather conditions before traveling. • Public transportation may be inconvenient. If you don't have a car, you may need to hire a car or tour, which will cost more or extend your time. • If you go during the dry season, the water level will drop significantly, and the magnificence may be less noticeable. You'll only be able to see a small section of the waterfall. • Facilities are basic, but restrooms and restaurants may be sparse or cramped at times. You'll need to prepare yourself. Tips for making the most of your trip: • Best time to go: Early morning (park opening/closing) is less crowded, the weather is good, and the light is perfect for photos. • Shoes: Wear hiking shoes or shoes with non-slip rubber soles to make it easier to walk on rocks or dirt paths. • Camera/phone: If you enjoy photography, use a filter or set a slow/long exposure mode. If the light is good, you'll get beautiful water curtain shots - but you'll need to set up a tripod securely. • Bring a change of clothes and a towel: If you plan on swimming, you'll definitely get wet, so bring a waterproof apron. • Check the weather forecast: Heavy rain can cause flooding or slippery paths. • Visit during the day: If you come in the evening, the area may be crowded and the light may be poor. #ChiangMaiTravel #ChiangMai #NatureTherapy #MaeYaWaterfall

Huay Keaw Waterfall

This trip to Chiang Mai was so much fun. We spent 4 days and 3 nights on this trip (I'll start by saying that I'm an introvert, so I chose the days and times I thought there would be fewer tourists, lol). 1. Start the trip by visiting Baan Kang Wat, a popular spot on TT. I recommend going around 10:00 AM when there aren't many people around, making it easier to take photos and avoiding people in the crowds. 2. Mae Ya Waterfall: We went during a storm and it was raining, but luckily, it wasn't raining too hard that day. Although the water wasn't as clear as it looked online, it was incredibly beautiful in person. 3. Huay Kaew Waterfall: There was no entrance fee when we went. We just walked a short distance and saw the waterfall. There were a lot of people sleeping by the stream, and the atmosphere was amazing. 4. Wat Pha Lat: It's so beautiful! The temple grounds are shady and peaceful. P.S. Honestly, I just wanted a change of scenery, lol. But since we were going all the way, I thought I'd give it a try. We found all 4 of these places on the spot, without any pre-planned plans. But I think it's nice not to have to plan anything. There's no pressure about where to go today. #ChiangMaiTravel #Natural attractions #House next to the temple #Mae Ya Waterfall #Huai Kaew Waterfall #Phalad Temple
