I went to Okada in Chita, where there is an old townscape. In the past, this area was a thriving center of Chita cotton from the Edo period to the 1950s, when farmers were thriving as a cotton weaving center. Even now, remnants of that prosperous time remain in the streets, so you can take a walk with a nostalgic feeling. In the town, there are old Taisho-era storehouses, Chita cotton shops, and a post office building that is a tangible cultural property. There is also a shop selling Chita cotton, a specialty of Chita, where you can experience weaving and purchase clothes and miscellaneous goods made from Chita cotton.
