Chichibu is a city where a unique culture lives on, backed by abundant natural resources. I stayed at Nipponia, a cozy space renovated from the historically valuable Koike Tobacco Shop, a registered tangible cultural property built in the early Showa period, the adjacent Miyatani House, and the Maruju Pharmacy, built between the first year of the Meiji era and the early Showa period. ☺️ It's wonderful to be able to experience the traditions of Chichibu and have local products for breakfast. 🍽️ This time, I stayed at Koike Tobacco Shop. The plumbing has been renovated, so you don't have to worry. However, the building itself is still the same, so it's cold in the winter. 🥶 All the rooms have been restored to preserve the charm and atmosphere of the time in order to preserve the historical buildings, so the insulation and airtightness are not very good.
