Huai Plakang Temple (Phra Ajahn Phopchok)

📍Wat Huai Plakang (Phra Ajarn Phop Chok), Chiang Rai Province 🙏🏻 Today, we will take everyone to visit Wat Huai Plakang, another beautiful temple in Chiang Rai Province. This temple is divided into many zones. Another zone that we like the most is Phop Chok Tham Chedi, which has 9 floors in total, surrounded by small chedis representing the 12 zodiac signs. The first floor has a large statue of Guan Yin bestowing blessings, carved from fragrant sandalwood imported from China, India, and Burma. The second floor has Guan Yin in a standing position. The third floor has Guan Yin in a sitting position. The fourth floor has a replica of Luang Pho Phra Phutthasothon. The fifth floor has Guan Yin in a thousand-handed position. The sixth floor has Luang Pu To Phrommarangsi and Luang Pu Thuad. The seventh floor has the Buddha statue in the Naga Parak position, which is considered the heavenly level of Daowadung, protecting the earth. The eighth floor is Phra Sangkachai or Phra Sri Ariya Maitreya, the god of success, the god of wealth, granting wealth, and granting blessings. The ninth floor is Phra Isuan. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Next to Phop Chok Chedi is a white Ubosot with a Naga staircase leading up. Enormous with stucco patterns throughout the building. Inside is a white Buddha statue and there are equally beautiful stucco patterns on the walls. The largest Guanyin statue in Thailand is approximately 79 meters high, equivalent to a 25-26 storey building. It is located on a hill and looks majestic. It is believed that whoever comes to pray for a blessing on health, finances and career will receive that blessing. On the way up to pay homage to Guanyin, you will see beautifully built architecture, especially the white dragon statue on the graceful stairs. The atmosphere is like being in China. Inside the Guanyin statue, you can go up to see the view of Wat Huai Plakang from a high angle. If you go up, take the elevator to the 25th floor (the elevator fare is 20 baht per person). You can walk around and admire the beauty of the temple and walk to the viewpoint. You will be at the eyes of Guanyin where you can see the scenery of Chiang Rai. You can also see the dragon gate at the entrance to the temple, right in front of the large Guanyin statue.
