The Starting Point of Chiang Mai: The Depth of Time Felt at Wat Chiang Man

Drawn by the fact that it is the oldest temple in Chiang Mai, I visited Wat Chiang Man. While it lacks a grand exterior or massive Buddha statues, the entire temple seems to be filled with the breath of ancient times, leaving a deep impression. The well-maintained garden and the serene temple grounds felt peaceful, as if far removed from the city's noise, and simply walking slowly through it brought a sense of calm. Though not large or extravagant, the temple's simplicity made it feel all the more genuine. It's a perfect spot to visit on a quiet day when you want to spend some time in peace, rather than as a tourist attraction. As it holds the origins of Chiang Mai, it also serves as an excellent starting point for your journey.
