Must-Visit Attraction in Chiang Mai, Thailand - Wat Phra Singh

Among the many temples in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Wat Phra Singh is a favorite among tourists. Located in the old city of Chiang Mai, it boasts a history of over 600 years. Initially built by King Mengrai to enshrine his father's ashes, it is one of the oldest and most revered temples in Chiang Mai. The architectural style of Wat Phra Singh combines classic elements of the Lanna period with traditional Thai Buddhist architecture. The main hall, pagodas, and other structures within the temple are adorned with exquisite wood carvings, stone carvings, and murals, showcasing the superb craftsmanship of Thai artisans and their profound understanding of Buddhist culture. At the center of the temple stands a large golden stupa approximately 20 meters high. Built in the 16th century, it is said to enshrine relics of the Buddha.
