Wat Lok Molee: Admire the Teak Wood Vihara and Lanna Art

🙏Wat Lok Molee is located in Chiang Mai city, outside the old town area. This beautiful and ancient temple showcases valuable Lanna art. Within the temple grounds, there is the magnificent main vihara, a teak wood hall intricately carved with ancient patterns and adorned with colorful glass mosaics, creating a dazzling array of colors on the dark-toned roof with red, white, blue, green, and yellow glass, sparkling in the light. The ceiling and pillars are also beautifully carved with various patterns. Inside the vihara, there is a meditating Buddha statue named Phra Buddha Sihing, which enshrines the Buddha's relics on its head since 2003. 🙏The temple complex also includes an ancient large pagoda built during the reign of King Muang Kesara in 1528, making it over 500 years old. This old pagoda is made of brick in a castle shape and is decorated with sculptures of deities at its corners, which have been registered by the Fine Arts Department. 🙏There are several other sacred objects enshrined within the temple grounds for worship and blessings, especially at the pavilion of Queen Chiraprapha Mahadevi.
